Accessibility

A disability provider's own website should be usable by the people it serves. Here is where we stand, and how to get information another way.

We checked ten of the largest NDIS providers in Sydney before writing this page. Not one of them published an accessibility statement. That is a low bar, and it is worth clearing properly.

How this site is built

Text and background colours are checked against WCAG 2.2 AA contrast ratios, which means body text sits at 4.5:1 or better and large text at 3:1 or better. Every image carries a text description. Headings run in order so a screen reader can navigate by structure. The site works at 375 pixels wide and at 200 per cent zoom without content being cut off.

Every control can be reached with a keyboard and shows a visible focus outline, and a skip link lets you jump past the menu straight to the content. Animation is switched off for anyone whose device asks for reduced motion. Type is set in Ubuntu and Roboto, both chosen for legibility rather than fashion.

Getting our information another way

Ask, and we will provide any of this at no cost:

Easy Read. A short version with pictures, for our service information, service agreements and the vacancy details.

Large print of any document.

Another language. Blacktown is one of the most linguistically diverse council areas in Australia. Ring TIS National on 131 450 and ask them to call us. It is free to you.

Auslan. We arrange an interpreter for meetings on request.

Over the phone. If reading a website is not how you want to do this, ring 0450 571 237 and we will talk it through.

Where we are not there yet

We do not yet have Easy Read versions published on the site; today they are prepared on request. We do not have Auslan video on our service pages. Both are on the list, and this section will say so when that changes rather than quietly disappearing.

Make a referral or ask about a placement

Tell us the supports the plan funds and when they need to start. We respond the same business day.
