Household tasks and domestic assistance
Cleaning, laundry and the shop, so the week does not quietly fall apart underneath everything else.
Household tasks are funded where a disability means you cannot do them, or cannot do them safely, and the practical effect of having them covered is usually larger than it sounds.
A house that is on top of itself is easier to live in and safer to move around.
What we do
Cleaning, including bathrooms, kitchens and floors. Laundry, washing through to putting away. Changing beds. Meal preparation, including cooking ahead and portioning for the week. Grocery shopping, with you or for you. Rubbish and recycling. Light garden maintenance, and keeping paths clear.
How it works alongside other supports
Most people have household tasks folded into a visit that also covers personal care or in-home support. One worker for the morning is simpler and cheaper than two visits, and it means someone who knows the house is doing the work.
Where a goal is to take the tasks on yourself over time, that is Improved Daily Living rather than domestic assistance, and it is funded from a different part of the plan. The two work well together: help with the heavy end, learning on the rest.
Questions
Is cleaning covered by the NDIS?
Yes, where the need arises from disability, under Core supports. It is not funded simply because cleaning is inconvenient, and that is a distinction plan reviewers apply.
Can you do the shopping without me?
Yes, if that is what you want. Some people prefer to come, both for the choice and for the outing. Either works.
Do you do gardening?
Yes, light garden maintenance and keeping access paths clear. Large landscaping or tree work is a job for a contractor, not a support worker.
Can the same worker do this and personal care?
Usually yes, and most people prefer it: one person who knows the house and the routine, rather than two visits from two people. Tell us if you would rather keep them separate and we will roster it that way.
What about deep cleaning or end of lease?
That is generally outside the ordinary domestic assistance line item. Ask us and we will confirm whether it is fundable.

Tell us the supports the plan funds and when they need to start. We respond the same business day.
