How we list a home
Three rules, so what you read here is what you find.
The house, never the people. We describe the home and not the residents. Who lives there is their business rather than a listing detail.
Access, stated plainly. Every listing says whether the home is modified for physical access, and if it is not, what that rules out.
Real photographs, current status. Photos are of the actual home. A vacancy comes down the day the room is filled.
Questions
How often is this page updated?
The day anything changes. A vacancy comes down when the room is filled; a new home is added when we have one.
Do you have SDA housing?
No. These are ordinary homes where we deliver supported independent living. If your plan funds Specialist Disability Accommodation, you need a registered SDA provider and the Housing Hub is the place to look.
Can I register interest for a future vacancy?
Yes. Tell us the supports the plan funds, the areas that suit, and roughly when a move would work, and we will contact you before a room is advertised.
Do I need to be with a registered provider?
Only if the NDIA manages your plan. Our registration is in progress; until it is confirmed we work with plan-managed and self-managed participants.
Not sure whether SIL is the right support at all? How supported independent living works goes through the funding and the alternatives.
Ask about a room, or register interest
Tell us what the plan funds and when a move would need to happen. We will confirm whether a home fits, or contact you when one does.
